The traditional place to go shopping is the city centre, where you can easily find a variety of shops, walking through the historical area of the city. Shops are usually open from 09.00 to 12.30/13.00 and from 15.30/16.00 to 19.30. They are closed on thursdays in the afternoon and on Sunday. At Christmas time they are open everyday.
You can also go shopping in one of the big shopping centres we have in Modena, where you can find a main area, divided into small areas according to the goods sold (food, electronics, gardening, clothes, cosmetics, house and car accessories…), and a shopping arcade, with a variety of shops.
There, you can easily find everything you may need. Goods are usually cheaper than in the shops you can find in the city centre.
Shopping centres are open roughly from 09.00 to 21.30/22.00. They are closed on Mondays in the morning (till 14.00) and on Sundays. At Christmas and in other holidays are open everyday.
Otherwise you can go shopping at the open air market. All the cities surrounding Modena has a specific day for its market. We remind You that during open air market days you do not have to park your car at the place where the market is.
