PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The public transportation in Milan is well organized, offering also a free-tool phone service (800808181), available also in english, helping customers with transportation directories.
> SUBWAY: Milan has three subway lines (M1 – red, M2 – green, M3 – yellow) in a system called Milan Metro with a network size of more than 80 km, connecting all major areas of the city. Fares 1€ per trip, 5€ one day.

> BUSES: a network of 85 lines of buses connects any metro station to the rest of the city,covering over 1,070 km. Fares 1€ lasting 75 minutes. Bus tickets are available in each newsstand or tobacconist’s shops as well as on the bus. So you can buy the ticket before getting on the bus and punch it when you are on the bus or buy it directly on the bus.

> TROLLEYBUSES: Milan also has four trolleybus routes as an alternative to traditional buses, same fare, covering 200km.
> TAXIS: there are very few taxis in Milano during rush hours, to have one either wave or phone 024040.

> AIRPORTS: The city has a large international airport known as Malpensa International Airport (MXP). It is located near the industrial town of Varese. Connected to downtown with the "Malpensa Express" railway service (from Cadorna Station and Central Station-Fare 12€ per trip).
There is another commercial airport called Linate Airport ("Aeroporto Forlanini", LIN), which is near the city limits specialized in domestic flights and in short-range flights within Europe, directly linked to the city with the bus line 73.
A third airport is Orio al Serio (BGY), close to the city of Bergamo, serving low cost airlines.

Milan Central Station is one of the European railway stations, inaugurated in 1931, it connects Milan to all the major cities in Italy and Europe, totalling about 120 million per year. It’s connected with busses, metros and trolleys to downtown
Milano Cadorna Station is in the city centre, and connects Milan to all major cities in the north-east/west of Italy and to the Malpensa International Airport.
