The EU Enforcement Directive 2014/67/EU on posting workers for temporary provision of services has been implemented in Malta on January 31, 2018. Such Directive changes the existing directive regulating foreign employees working temporarily in Malta. The Directive applies changes regarding the following matters:
- The employer must appoint a representative, which is a contact person responsible for liaising with the Department of Industrial Relations and is liable to provide detailed information about the posted workers upon request of the Inspectorate.
- Before the posted workers starts their work, the following documents must be available and translated into English, if necessary:
– Employment contract
– Pay slips
– Confirm of the posted worker/s working hours
– Work permit
– Proof of wage payments
